For web designers
You design websites. Somewhere along the way you started running servers.
You’re good at the design, the brand, the words and the marketing. You’re the local hero. The hosting, the email and the DNS came along with it, because to your client you’re the one who knows technology.
Hand that part to us. Keep your client. Get paid every month for it.
Tell us what you’re carryingThe bit nobody warns you about
You didn’t set out to run hosting. A client asked where their site would live, you found an answer, and twelve clients later you’re the one who gets the call when something’s down.
So now your week has some of this in it:
- A site is slow and nobody can say why
- An update broke a page and the backup is three days old
- Their quotes are landing in junk and the answer involves three DNS records you have to look up every single time
- A domain is about to expire and it’s registered to an email address nobody has access to
- Somebody wants a CRM and you’ve been handed the project because you set up their contact form
None of it is design work. It’s faff, it mostly happens outside business hours, and if you’re honest about the hours, very little of it pays.
What we take
Everything on the technical side of a website that isn’t design. The lot.
Hosting
Managed WordPress on our own stack, backed by Cloudflare’s network. Hourly backups, 24/7 monitoring, caching handled at the server rather than by a plugin.
Google Workspace setup, migration from whatever they’re on, and the accounts, groups and aliases that come with it.
Deliverability
SPF, DKIM and DMARC, which are the three records that prove an email really came from your client. Set up properly, their quotes land in inboxes instead of junk.
Domains and DNS
Registered in one place, auto-renew on, and pointed where they’re supposed to be. A domain costs about twenty-five dollars a year and it’s the brick at the bottom of the wall. Pull it out and the email stops, the website stops, the sales stop.
Security and updates
Plugin and core updates tested before they go on, and a login that works like online banking rather than a password in a browser.
CRM
If they need one, we set it up and run it. If they don’t, we say so.
When a site goes down at ten at night, the call comes to us.
What you keep
This is the part that matters, so here it is on its own.
The client stays your client.
You keep the design work, the brand, the content and the marketing, and you keep the relationship that comes with it. We don’t quote design work to a client you sent us. Not in year one, not in year four.
Three things make that real rather than a promise on a page:
-
You’re named on the account.
On the account itself, not a note in a file.
-
You’re copied on every support ticket.
Every one, from “the contact form stopped” to “we’ve moved them to a bigger server”. You’re never the last to find out something happened to a site with your name on it.
-
You never get a billing email.
You’re out of the money conversation entirely. No invoices land with you, no overdue reminders, and you’re never the one chasing your client for our fee.
Visible on everything technical.
Named on the account, copied on every ticket.
Invisible on everything financial.
No invoice or reminder ever reaches you.
That’s the split.
What you earn
10% of everything that client pays us, every month, for as long as they’re with us.
It isn’t a finder’s fee or a first-year bonus. You earn it every month the account runs.
A typical small business site on hosting and our entry WordPress Care plan is $166 a month, so that’s $16.60 a month to you. Ten of those is $166 a month landing in your account, every month, for clients you’re currently looking after for nothing.
| What the client pays us | Per month | Your 10% |
|---|---|---|
| Managed WordPress Hosting | from $57 | $5.70 |
| WordPress Care, entry plan | from $109 | $10.90 |
| Email delivery and domain reputation | $149 | $14.90 |
| Google Workspace Care | from $399 | $39.90 |
| Business Operating System | per tier | 10% |
We price in Australian dollars, pounds and US dollars, and your 10% works the same way in each.
It applies to everything recurring, not a shortlist. If they’re paying us for it, you’re earning on it.
It doesn’t have to be hosting
Hosting is usually where it starts, but it’s rarely the whole list. You’re probably also the one a client calls about the email, the domain, the contact form and the CRM, because there isn’t anyone else.
Pick the parts you don’t enjoy, or don’t want to keep doing, and send us those. Keep the rest. It can be one client and one job.
Send as much or as little as you like
- One client’s email, and nothing else
- Just the domains and DNS, across all your clients
- Every site you’re hosting at the moment
- The CRM one client keeps asking you about
- The client who rings you about anything technical
Whatever that client ends up paying us for each month, your 10% applies to it.
What this isn’t
You’ve met a partner program before, so here’s what we’re not doing.
No tiers.
No silver, no gold, no platinum.
No targets or minimums.
One client is a fine number of clients to refer.
No exclusivity.
Keep hosting whatever you want to keep hosting.
No reselling.
You’re not buying from us and marking it up, so there’s no margin to manage and no invoice of your own to chase.
No training or certification.
There’s nothing to certify. You send us the work and we do it.
Who you’d be handing it to
SixFive has been doing this for fourteen years. We’re a Google Workspace partner, we build on WordPress, and we look after the hosting, email and domains for small businesses across Australia, the Philippines and Spain.
We’re the people who get called when a web developer disappears, or when an IT company has been explaining things in gibberish for two years. We’re not going to do that to someone you sent us.
Duncan Isaksen-Loxton
Founder, SixFive
Duncan started SixFive fourteen years ago and grew it almost entirely on word of mouth. Alongside the IT work he spent 15 years as a ski patroller, 5 in fire and rescue and 15 as a beach lifeguard.
Every form on this page goes straight to him.
“Technology should just work, invisibly. It should not be a second job for a business owner.”
What clients say
“When I engaged SixFive to support Sunrise’s Google and WordPress needs I was the only IT person in an organisation of 100-odd staff that was rapidly growing. Duncan and his team made me feel like I was not alone in that endeavour. I relied heavily on them to back me up … literally with Google, WordPress and Box backups and eventually a migration, global support for the digital engagement folks”
Jen Hasenauer
“SixFive have streamlined the onboarding of new staff into Google Workspace ensuring all staff have the same experience and training.”
Mark Champion
Chief Operating Officer, Archie Rose Distilling Co
“The team at SixFive have been outstanding. They provide the highest quality service and are always on hand to assist. I can highly recommend them.”
David Washbrook
Co-Founder, Look Who’s Charging
What have you been left holding?
It takes two minutes, and we’ll come back to you with whether we can take it off you, what it would cost your client, and what you’d earn. If it isn’t a fit we’ll say so.
Questions people ask first
Will you go after my client?
No. We don’t quote design, brand or content work to a client you referred. That’s your work and it stays your work. If a client you sent us asks us to redesign their site, we tell them to call you.
What if they want something built that I don’t do?
Tell us and we’ll quote it to them as technical work, with you copied in. You decide whether you want to be involved.
Do I have to sell anything?
No. Send an introduction, or send the form. We do the conversation. You’re not quoting, not reselling, and not answering technical questions on our behalf.
What happens when my client emails me because their site is down?
Forward it to us, or tell them to raise a ticket. Either way you’re copied on it and you can watch it get fixed without being the one fixing it.
How do I get paid?
You get an account on my.sixfive.io with a running balance you can look at whenever you want. Your 10% lands in it as your clients pay their invoices. From there it’s your call: ask us for a withdrawal and we pay it out, or leave it sitting there and put it against your own invoices with us. Plenty of partners go the second way, because it means their own hosting and email get cheaper every month a referred client stays. Refer enough and you stop paying for your own stack.
What if I want to stay hands-on with the technical side?
Then this probably isn’t for you, and that’s fine. This is for the ones who’d rather hand it over.
Can I still host the clients I want to host?
Yes. There’s no exclusivity. Send us the ones you’re tired of.
Still looking after hosting you’d rather hand over?
Tell us what you’re carryingOr email duncan@sixfive.io and tell us about it in your own words. Either works.
